14-year-old Raven Devanney thoroughly enjoyed Monte Carlo. Here's herreview: Monte Carlo is an awesome movie for girl's night. Selena Gomez, KatieCassidy, and Leighton Meester's performances are absolutely fantastic!I really enjoy this movie; it is funny, romantic and extremelyentertaining. One thing I find a bit disappointing is that the storyline is pretty predictable; however it is made up for by the wonderfulacting. The cinematography is excellent and vivid. It truly shows offthe beauty of Italy and Monte Carlo. My favorite character is Graceplayed by Selena Gomez. Grace is so determined to have a great time inItaly and make sure her friends are having a blast. She stays cool andcalm even when life takes an unexpected turn and I admire that abouther. My favorite scene when Cordelia Winthrop Scott, Grace'slook-alike, comes to the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo and Grace andher friends have to scramble around trying to make her hotel room lookperfect again so they don't get caught. This scene is very funny andenjoyable. I recommend Monte Carlo for ages 10 and up because therearen't any sexual scenes or inappropriate language, but younger kidsmay not enjoy the story of young adults traveling to Italy. I giveMonte Carlo 4 out of 5 stars because it's a great film for you and yourfriends! Video review here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ-q6ZKY7zU

That's more or less the translation of the German title the movie got.And while it does prove to be right (about the plot), it is mostcertainly not right about the experience you'll have watching this.Unless you are teenage girl that is and just like the magic of it all, this will more likely offend your every sense. The jokes can be seenfrom a mile of, at least. There is a sense that there was no acting allowed on the set and italso feels as if they had a checklist of every possible cliché theycould find. While this makes it painfully obvious that I wasn't thetarget audience, it's still no excuse for the poor execution. Even ifthe cast seemed to have the time of their life, it doesn't translateinto a good movie

For a mindless teeny-bopper movie, I was impressed with this. It isn't exactly amazing cinema, but it's definitely a fun watch!

i found this film to be entertaining and funny . i went to see it withthe least expectations .selena Gomez is a good actress and she broughtback the times when we used to admire teen actresses and take themseriously . actresses like Christina Ricci and Brooke shields when theywere teens . there are few deep messages in the film . about honesty ,money . love and friendship .also i would like to say that thecinematography was wonderful and it was a big promotion for MonteCarloarts with funny absurd situations like some cultural differencefunny moments in France and how some hotels aren't up to standardsthere when they are being advertised in the best way possible . . butthe way it develops the story is admiring. all in all i recommend thisfilm for anyone anytime . it is a feel good funny romantic flick .

I almost didn't watch the movie because I saw the reviews of othershere on IMDb. In the end I decided to try it anyway and was pleasantlysurprised. Sure, the story has been done before, and in the end it maynot be the most realistic, but that's not why you should want to watchthis movie anyway. It's a happy, feel-good movie about following yourdreams that, when you finish watching it, leaves you with a smile onyour face. I recommend this to anyone with a bit of extra time who justwants to watch a relaxing, cheerful movie like me (a 21 year old girlXD) or for anyone who wants a nice, clean movie to watch for or withtheir children. Enjoy!

Monte CarloWhile travelling abroad, it's important for Americans to remember thatwhen in trouble, they can always get help at the nearest, bombed-out,US embassy. However, the three Yankees in this romantic-comedy are the ones causingthe trouble. When her stepsister, Meg (Leighton Meester), compromises her and herfriend's Paris vacation, Grace (Selena Gomez) and Emma (Katie Cassidy)try to make the best of it.When their tour turns out to be a drag, however, they ditch into ahotel where Grace encounters her exact double, an heiress (SelenaGomez). After overhearing the socialite's secret travel arrangements, Graceassumes her identity and takes full advantage of her scheduled trip toMonte Carlo. While it follows the footsteps of other worldly girl movies, MonteCarlo differs from the bunch by basing its love stories around socialclass.Furthermore, it proves that identity theft is only bad if the victimhas massive debt. Selena Gomez is an actress. Period. With her newest movie, Monte Carlo,Selena Gomez has successfully been released from the Disney Channellabel cast upon her by the immensely successful series, Wizards ofWaverly Place.I do not mean to imply that Gomez has, in any way, left her good- girlimage or abandoned her role-model status among teens, tweens, andassorted others across the globe  rather that she has progressed inher career to the point that she can now be seen as a serious actress.Gomez, along with talented cast mates Leighton Meester (who also showsher range as a thespian in her rare non Gossip Girl role) and KatieCassidy, star in a beautiful story of love, heartbreak, and maturity.Based on a previously done plot, Monte Carlo is about a young womanfrom Texas played by Selena Gomez, who is mistaken for an heiress, alsoSelena Gomez, and, along with her blue-collar best friend and bookishstepsister, is whisked into the idyllic world of luxury. Despite thisformulaic plot, the movie hits a surprising range of emotional gracenotes, including several moments of genuine regret, and concludes withan understated moral lesson about the value of self-respect over socialstatus. In Monte Carlo, these young women struggle to understand and appreciatethe world around them, and in doing so come to understand who theytruly are. The actresses do astounding jobs portraying their roles, thecinematography is excellent, and the scripting is brilliant. Through amovie with an overdone plot, themes of self-reflection andunderstanding percolate through the developing journeys of these threeyoung women  while light humor weaves throughout the plot. These jokes both blunt and subtle  keep the audience thoroughly fixated on thestory and provide the film with the organic atmosphere it needs to makea true impact on viewers.Monte Carlo is more than just a standard tween film or Disney movie Âit is a must-see summer movie that boasts great acting, stupendousideals, and enormous potential.

My friends and I wanted to go see a movie. We wanted to see "The Art ofGetting By", but it wasn't playing in our theater. There wasn't reallyanything else that seemed appealing to a group of teenage girls orreally appropriate. The other movies were way too old or young, or justnot interesting to us. So we decided to go see Monte Carlo. It was sucha good movie! It was very entertaining. ") While I'll admit some it isa little unbelievable-but so what? It was fun. The three lead actresseswere great! Katie was perfect as the spunky and goofy Texas Blonde, andSelena Gomez has such potential as an actress. I ADORED her as thespoiled British heiress. As an actress myself, having to play twocompletely different roles isn't easy, I give her so much props. Overall, it's a grate, funny, and just innocent fun for a girls night out(or in) or just for a rainy day. :)

This move was super boring. We took our 10 year old and 7 year old andthey thought it was dull. Nothing ever really happens and the script isnothing special. The movie is built around people talking and doingnothing much more. The movie was unprofitable and only made it budgetback and it didn't even cover its marketing expenses. The writer has notalent at all. The actors look bored. Don't waste your cash on thisshould be a made for TV movie stinker. I just wonder how these thingsget made. We never laughed out loud. You knew exactly where the storywas going to go. The focused their whole budget on set design. Youngkids need some energy and this joke of a writer/director couldn'tcreate and kind of pacing at all. The movie seemed long and all of thekids watching it were not paying attention because there was only thesliver of a plot. I would hire this talentless writer to write aweather report. His family must be laughing behind his back.

This was a charming, light, chick flick. Selena Gomez is utterly charming as a warm-hearted, earnest Texas girl who is visiting France for the first time with her lively friend and stiff step-sister, when she is mistaken for a wealthy heiress. The roles are well played, and the love interests are well cast. It is a bit formulaic, but it is a romantic comedy. The scenery is beautiful, the boys' Australian and French accents are real, and I particularly enjoyed the three romances involved.

The movie holds your attention because you're curious. A few zig-zagscomplicate a trip to Paris. Confusion turns to mischief. Can an awkwardTexas girl (Selena Gomez) fool the social elite and find love along theway? The relationship between three young ladies who long to see theCity of Love becomes the nucleus for a bizarre stay at hotel romp. Turnthe light switch off and on and suddenly an English sophisticate(Selena Gomez) gets put on hold while Texas Gomez fills her shoes. Thiswouldn't be so extraordinary except that everyone buys it... Small townTexan fools the french elite into thinking she is one Cordelia WinthropScott. Sooner or later you know she's gonna get found out but by thenit's just a matter of working around a few Monte Carlo authorities...Selena had no trouble playing polar opposites in this movie. Herprevious acting career opened the door.
