Tuck Everlasting is the story of a girl named Winnie and a family who she meets, the Tucks. The Tucks have a secret, theyre immortal. They drank water from a spring that was actually a fountain of youth. Till the end of time, they will stay that way. Winnie falls inlove with one of the Tucks, Jesse, a 17 year old boy who shares the same feelings for her. Scared of death, Winnie must choose between being immortal and being with Jesse or following the circle of life and dying someday. The Tucks try to teach her how she shouldnt fear death, how they would give anything to die. It teaches the importance and understanding of life and death. It shows that you should not fear death, but to fear an unlived life.

Tuck Everlasting is a well done and very entertaining film based on abook. The acting was very good and surprising for a movie like this.Alexis came through and made me care about her character and whathappens to her love for Jessie. Victor Garbor is always good and so isthe great Ben Kingsly. This guy has class and can make any role hereceives a special one even with very few dialogue. The script moves ata fast pace and never slows down for a second. It would've been nice toget more of the story, but what we have now is terrific. This should be a movie that the whole family should enjoy. Prepare for90 minutes of magical adventure.

Wow, this is a good movie. It's also extremely sad. I saw it for the first time in school, and I almost started crying at the end. I personelly, would have stayed with Jesse. It's just sad knowing that he was coming back for her someday and she married, had kids, and had a life without him. Overall, this is a great movie, the end is just really, really sad.

Tuck Everlasting teaches you about life. I think everyone can relate to Winnie Foster. It makes you think should she have drank the water and why? It makes you think would I like to live forever? It makes you think if it was you would you have drank the water? I think you should see the movie if you didn't it's the best!

I love all the sweet scenes between Jessie and Winnie in this movie. I love clean love story movies. Plus Jessie was so adorable. I just wish that it had a happy ending. I just adore happy endings. It's a great movie and I love it! Will watch again.

This movie is about love, a universal subject, but it's fantasy/adventure. The love is between a caucasian girl and a guy who drinks some water (along with his family) that makes him live forever. Will she join him or not? Is it really great to live forever? I always watched it whenever I saw it on cable TV. Unfortunately, there is a snake and this frightens me. I have watched it many times so I know when to look away. This is the only thing I don't like about this film, so I'll remove 1 star. If you're not scared of snakes, I highly recommend this film. It's just one scene with a snake, so it's not so bad.

This is what good movie making is all about. Start with a little mystery, throw in some beautiful actors, and then for a fabulous finish, tell agreatstory. I liked this movie. Heck, I almost LOVED it! If Winnie would havedrank the water, the movie would have been a classic. 7 1/2 out of 10stars.

This movie was great. But the reason why I only gave it 4 stars was because of the ending. It was very depressing which made me cry. I just don't like how the story is at the end. I would say what it is, but I don't want to give it away. But besides the end, this movie was really good and I recommend it to anyone. Seriously, I think everyone needs to watch it.

I had never heard of author Natalie Babbitt or her book "Tuck Everlasting" until I saw the first preview for the movie. It looked interesting, so I went to my school library, sat down, and read the book in all of two hours. I greatly enjoyed the tale, and I looked forward to the film version.I didn't expect too much, therefore I was pleasantly surprised. With the exception of the invented romance between Winnie and Jesse, the filmmakers didn't stray too far from the book storyline. Even the romance, however, was not overdone. There is an element of romance in the book, since Jesse does ask Winnie to wait for several years until she is of marriageable age, then drink from the spring and live with him forever. This was slightly overemphasized in the movie, but as I said before, it was well done.I thought the movie focused on the issues of life and death/mortality and immortality very well. Tuck's conversation with Winnie on the lake was by far the best section of the book, and I was pleased to find that it was well-crafted in the movie as well.Overall, this movie is an admirable job of a book adaptation, especially from Disney. A solid four stars.

This is a romantic movie was performed and filmed beautifully which tells us that living forever is not always a blessing. It is about the Tucks who are stuck with eternal life after drinking from a magic spring, when Winnie Foster, has ran away from the overprotectness of her wealthy parents, gets lost in the woods one day,and comes upon Jesse Tuck and finds out the secret the Tucks have hid all there life. While,a stranger,"man in the yellow suit" finds out there secret and has a evil plan on selling the spring's water. This is one of the most wonderful movies that will never be forgotten!

Director Jay Russell follows his underrated My Dog Skip with anotherexcellent family film, Tuck Everlasting. Alexis Bledel (the young actressfrom the Gilmore Girls) plays Winifred Foster, the teenage daughter of asmall-town family in the early 20th century. Although wealthy, Winifred(orWinnie) chafes at her existence, as her domineering mother will not let herengage in any fun activities with the other kids her age, as they are sobourgeois. Instead she must study, practice on the piano and do only thethings expected of a proper lady. Eventually, Winnie reaches the breakingpoint when she is told she is going to be sent away to school, and she runsaway deep into the woods of her father's estate. As she flees, she happensupon an older boy, Jesse Tuck (Jonathan Jackson), drinking from a smallspring. He is startled by her presence, and turns surly when she tries todrink from the same spring. Soon Jesse's brother Miles appears and kidnapsher, carrying her back to the long-hidden Tuck family homestead located onthe Foster estate. Winnie is introduced to the parents of Jesse and Miles(played by William Hurt and Sissy Spacek), but she is not allowed to returnhome because it is feared that she has learned the Tuck family 'secret' -anyone that drinks from the Foster spring will have eternal life. Later,Winnie and Jesse are increasingly attracted to each other, and Winnie isamazed how much she enjoys her simple life with the Tucks, where timeseemingly stands still. Eventually, though, the dream is broken by thereappearance of a stranger in a yellow suit (Ben Kingsley), who has beensearching for years for the Tucks and their legendary fountain of youth.Tuck Everlasting is a magical coming-of-age film that causes you to askyourself profound questions about the meaning of life and death - if youcould break the circle of life and live forever, would you? Excellentstorytelling and wonderful performances by all of the lead actors, especially Alexis Bledel, Ben Kingsley and Sissy Spacek. Highlyrecommendedby both me and my 8 year old kids - rated 8 out of 10.

About immortality. Is it all it's cracked up to be? "We're just rocks bythestream". That was my favorite quote of the film. I would recommend thisforall ages. Ignore the trailer, it makes it look like a romance film.8/10

This is (again) a remake of an "old" film in 1981. The film quitesuccessfully delivers the peace and tranquility that only exist ineternity. The tune from the musical box plays a vital role of linkingthe whole film. Beautiful cinematography, simple but solid storylinewith philosophical narratives about life and death (e.g. Angus Tuck:"Don't be afraid of death, Winnie. Be afraid of the unlived life").However, some shoots are inconsistent. One apparent goof is when theTuck brothers went to the police station to save their parents. FirstlyJesse Tuck was shown standing on the left hand side of Miles Tuck, butwhen the police came out of the station and shot them, the revivedJesse Tuck was found on the right hand side of Miles Tuck.

Romance, especially in Nicholas Spark's case, is usually cheesynowadays. Rarely, a romance is nominated for best movie of the year. And when it is, you understand why. Films like Atonement and Aneducation are a good example of that. But sometimes there are some thatare sappy but you enjoy. Tuck everlasting is a good example. It'ssappy, and ridiculous, but it doesn't matter. You leave illogic at thedoor, and you enjoy.Alexis Bledel plays Winnie Foster, a girl, living back in the oldtimes, who has just moved to some town, I don't know where. One daywhen she's walking in the woods, she meets a stranger named JesseTuck(Johnathon Jackson), who tells her to go away. Soon after, she iscaptured and taken away by Jesse's brother. She is missing, and her parents are looking for her. They aren't theonly ones. There is a stranger(Ben Kingsley) who is looking for her andThe Tucks, because he knows about their secret(which I won't giveaway). Winnie is living with The Tucks,in hiding, and soon falls forJesse, and soon finds out their secret. The movie is very cheesy. When you hear Jesse say" I'll love you tilthe day I die", you may not be able to help but roll your eyes. Themovie is sappy, but it's cute. The plot obviously isn't feasible, butthe movie is adorable, and entertaining. The two leads evoke charm. I preferred it over movies like TheNotebook, or anything Nicholas Sparks for that matter. Those movies aretoo cheesy. This movie still has flaws, but I liked it. So, it's worthseeing if you haven't already.3/4

I personally loved this movie, the actors did a marvilous performanceand almost made you believe it was really happening. seeing this ontelevision was wonderful, although I strongly warn everone who haveread the book 'Tuck Ever Lasting' and is about to see it, for they didadd a couple scenes that were in the book out. The parts they did addout, though were not to important, but if you were very into the bookwhen you read it, you'll probably notice. Besides that one littleproblem, it really is not that bad. I actually cried at the ending ofthe movie. It's not all drama, it's has it's humorous moments to. All Ican think about when I watch this movie is that it's trying to teachyou that living for ever is what everyone wants, but if it reallyhappened, you'd hate it. The movie doesn't just make you laugh, cry,and dream, but it has a meaning for peoples life.

When I was nine years old in Mrs. Nelms class she read to us the book "TuckEverlasting" Its always been a favorite.I really loved this movie version. I thought the casting was great, and justloved the look and feel...Jesse and Winnie running through the meadows andall...it was fun to watch. I can't stop thinking about it, the story, the meanings, the lessons thatare in this movie. Its a visual feast and something easy to relate to...noneof us want to die....but we dont realize that immortality is not all itscracked up to be..."dont be afraid of death, but be afraid of the unlivedlife"...what an inspiration.

This review is from: Tuck Everlasting (DVD) I know this movie is quite good, cause I saw it on TV a couple of years ago. I Truly enjoyed this movie Very much, so when I saw it for sale on amazon, I jumped at the chance to get it. It came quickly and it seemed to be in good condition, it was supposed to be new. But, I did not see any seals under the shrink wrap, so that made me a little suspicious. When I took it out of its package it looked just fine, except for the seal under the shrink wrap, so I put it in my DVD player to watch it. But, when it came on it said "In large letters, "CANNOT PLAY", I was very upset, to say the least! So, I took it out and went into my bedroom, and put it in my DVD player in there, and it did the very same thing. So, I had to get it packaged again and will mail it on Monday! I can only hope they (Movie Mars) will Replace it and send it back ASAP. This incident makes me leery of getting anything through the mail ever again. Sincerely LaVerne Conerly
